The Oregon SRTS Conference is coming to Eugene in June and we’re looking for submissions of presentations and workshops. If you have something you’d like to share submit a proposal! We’re also looking for ideas on great Keynote speakers you’d like to hear from. Email Shane if you have ideas of people you’d like to hear! And make sure you put the date on your calendar so you can attend!
The Oregon Safe Routes to School Leadership Committee asks you to share your successes and challenges at the conference by submitting proposals between now and February 29th. Please help us share experiences and discuss challenges with all our partners and friends in the Oregon Safe Routes to School Network during this energizing time together.
More information: The conference will be held on June 20-21 and will include speakers and sessions for new and veteran Safe Routes to School (SRTS) practitioners, staff, volunteers, and partners. There will be trainings held after the conference on June 22-23 that will include sessions on the Oregon Bicycle Safety Education and Pedestrian Safety Education curriculum as well as a “Traffic Skills 101″ class. Along with speakers, presentations, and classes there will be networking, social time, and special tours. This event is a great opportunity to learn more and share knowledge around Safe Routes to School and is open to anyone working to get more kids out and active in their communities; SRTS practitioners, teachers, parents, health care providers, and other professionals. It will also be an opportunity to show off what makes Eugene a great place to bike, walk, and roll!
This is the first time the biennial Oregon SRTS Conference will be held in Eugene. Previous locations have been Newberg and Bend. The Oregon SRTS Network is a group of individuals and organizations working throughout the state to make walking and biking to school safe, convenient, and fun. The Network believes that every kid deserves to safely walk and bike to school and other places.
